EDSS Opens Branch Office in China

Whitmore Lake, April 11, 2016- EDSS is excited to announce the opening of a new office in Guangdong, China. The launch of EDSS’s China branch represents the culmination of the company’s year-long efforts to expand their market reach internationally and increase exports to China.  EDSS welcomes their new sales representative John Zuo, who brings more than a decade of experience in sales, lighting products, and LED-based electronics to the EDSS team. With Mr. Zuo’s help, EDSS expects to participate in China’s increasing efforts to reduce pollution by improving efficiency. The Michigan company is also working to import lighting from its Chinese partners. EDSS provides Energy (Facility Energy Audits, Retro-Commissioning Studies, and Carbon Tracking) and Lighting (Design and Supply) programs for Chinese commercial-building owners. These programs help businesses adapt to the changing regulatory environment addressing climate change by making their operations more efficient while tracking and reducing their carbon footprints.

Mexico Branch of EDSS Continues Growth

Queretaro, Mexico, March 23, 2016- Energy Design Service Systems (EDSS) Mexico operations continue to expand. EDSS launched a branch in Mexico in January, and this month, three EDSS staff attended the show Electri-Q in Querétaro, the annual meeting of the Electro Mechanical Contractors Association of Querétaro. EDSS gave a presentation on the importance of energy efficiency and quality lighting design to profitable business operations.

EDSS Hosts Women in Retailing Reception at SPECS 2016

SPECS is an intimate show for corporate executives involved in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of stores and restaurants nationwide. SPECS attracts executives from top retailers across the country for the purpose of problem solving, developing best practices, sharing ideas, and cultivating business partnerships. This year Pat Riley gave the keynote address, speaking about leveraging teamwork and personal excellence to build an organization that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Whitmore Lake, February 19, 2016- Michigan State Representative Gretchen Driskell visited the company headquarters of Energy Design Service Systems (EDSS) in Whitmore Lake on Friday, February 19th to meet the staff and discuss water quality, energy policy, and infrastructure in Michigan. The launch of EDSS’s Mexico branch represents the culmination of the company’s year-long efforts to expand their market reach internationally and increase exports to Mexico. EDSS welcomes their new sales representative Yennise Garza, who brings more than a decade of experience in sales and market research to the EDSS team. Educated at the Technical Institute of Monterrey, she has also attended the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University and the École Superièure de Commerce, in Rouen, France. With Ms. Garza’s help, EDSS expects to participate in Mexico’s increasing efforts to reduce their energy consumption to meet their ambitious carbon reduction goals. David Ely, President/CEO of Energy Design Service Systems (EDSS), traveled to Los Angeles last week to attend the inaugural U.S.-China Climate Leaders Summit. The two major economic powers joined together to influence other nations to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. Both California Governor Jerry Brown and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti remarked during a series of opening speeches that the U.S. and China have a special responsibility to address climate change because of the size of their economies, their significant carbon footprints, and their ability to influence other nations to make crucial changes to environmental policy.
