The Bipartisan Budget Act was Passed on February 9, 2018 providing a one-year retroactive extension of §179D energy tax incentive provisions.
The EPAct §179D TAX DEDUCTION allows eligible commercial buildings which were constructed or renovated that meet the 50% energy efficiency standard to achieve $1.80 per square foot under the Bipartisan Budget Act . Partial deductions can also be achieved separately through lighting, HVAC and Building Envelope components.
- EPAct 179D is extended from December 31, 2016– December 31, 2017
- EPAct 179D will offer a deduction for existing buildings built on/before December 31, 2017 and will offer $0.60-$1.80 based on ASHRAE 90.1-2007 standard.
